The Fit Files

Top NFL fits & fashion: Justin Jefferson, DeVonta Smith voted best-dressed players of Week 5

In the Week 4 edition of The Fit Files: NFL's Five Best-Dressed, Micah Parsons and Patrick Surtain II were the stars of the NFL tunnel runway, drawing a round of applause with their cool, elevated white fits. This week, the offensive-skill guys brought the heat, led by two elite wide receivers who are considered among the NFL's best dressed.

Before we dig in, here's a quick refresher on the members of our panel:

Terron Armstead -- Former five-time Pro Bowl left tackle for the Saints and Dolphins (2013-2024); currently hosts The Set podcast on YouTube bi-weekly on Monday/Thursday night.

  • Fashion vision: Fashion is our daily "first impression." It's our non-verbal expression, so I use it as the first line of communication.

Jamie Erdahl -- Host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network and the nationally syndicated show GMFB OT.

  • Fashion vision: Designer sweatshirts take the cake.

Jason McCourty -- Super Bowl champion and former cornerback for the Titans, Browns, Patriots and Dolphins (2009-2021); current ESPN studio analyst/CBS game analyst.

  • Fashion vision: Fashion is confidence, and confidence is a stain you can't wipe off!

Chad Johnson -- Custom clothier and designer for Duane & Johnson menswear tailoring.

  • Fashion vision: Where style outlives the season -- fashion, to me, is making today timeless.

And finally, I am a national TV reporter for NFL Network, and my fashion vision is: Dress how you want to be addressed and wear what helps you exude, "I'm HIM."

A NOTE ON METHODOLOGY: Panelists voted on a list of fits shown off before games from Thursday through Monday, with five points being assigned to each first-place vote, four-points being assigned to each second-place vote, and so on. For players who have previously earned votes, we will list their season point total and mark any prior top-five finishes.

Here, presented in reverse order, are the winners from Week 5:

5) Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys

Points: 6

Johnson describes the fit as "natural and organic" and a match to Prescott's "body shape, skin tone and personality."

The details sell this well-fit choice, from the fly Christian Dior shirt to the denim hat complementing the denim jeans. Even Prescott's suitcase and bag selection flow well.

T-3) Jeffery Simmons, DT, Tennessee Titans

Points: 7

As soon as Simmons hopped off the bus, we should've known the Titans would steal their first win of the season. Here we have another comfortable, natural match with the player's personality -- in this case, as a country man gone west. The full denim fit, with a couple buttons popped, a big belt buckle and brown boots, screams big-man swag.

T-3) David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns

Points: 7 | Season point total: 8

The Chief has arrived! Njoku's cream white suit is tailored well and perfectly fits with his skin tone. No notes -- it's eye-popping. And the brown loafers, gold watch and brown/black checkered Sprayground backpack add just enough pop.

2) DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Points: 9 | Season point total: 35

Smith remains a constant near the top of our weekly rankings. It's hard to find a player wearing better tailored suits to fit their body aesthetic perfectly than Smith. This light blue custom double-breasted suit is another classic.

1) Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Points: 15 | Season point total: 25

Jefferson looks right at home in London with this exquisite two-piece matching Burberry set and a trench coat with fur hood.

Erdahl captured the essence of this fit perfectly, saying Jefferson could walk his way right over to Paris Fashion Week for the Vikings' upcoming bye.

Let's talk about the details: Richard Mille watch and a gigantic bust down diamond jet chain that is sure to demand attention. Can't hide money, and it doesn't look like Jefferson is trying to hide a thing.

About this fit, Jefferson told GQ Sports: "I definitely wanted to have that London vibe ... it's different for me, but this is the step towards greatness."
